THE 33 multi-purpose cooperatives under the stewardship of Balanga City Cooperatives Development Council (CCDC) are unfazed by the dreaded Covid-19 plus the inclement
weather as they celebrate their 19th founding anniversary and a cooperative month today, Thursday.
Highlighting the celebration are activities such as on-line trade fair showcasing the various coop’ local products, a visit to the Bahay-Puso (Kalinga Kay Lolo at Loa sa Panahon ng Pandemya),
webinar on success stories of agile and strategic shift of business in the pandemic, and other related activities.
May Ambrosio Hizon, CCDC chair, and manager of Cemba, said despite the threat of coronavirus, coop members are actively involved in the cooperatives undertakings “because the spirit of cooperativism is intact in their professional upbringing.” She said the coops will concentrate on continuing effort to propagate the trending On-Line Trade Fair.
Litz del Rosario, officer-in-charge of city cooperative development office (CCDO), said “Because of the pandemic, face-to-face interactions are limited, at umiksi rin po ang araw ng pagdiriwang at mga activities.”
“Lahat ay nasa krisis ngayon, limitado ang gastos o pagbibigay ng tulong-pinansiyal . But the concern for coop members can still be felt by everyone,” Ms. Del Rosario said.
