DILG recognizes outstanding barangays

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) recognized outstanding barangay officials in Bataan during the Husay Barangay 2025 awarding ceremony held on November 11, 2025 at the Bataan People’s Center.

 

The event brought together more than 800 participants, including Punong Barangays, Sangguniang Barangay Members, secretaries, treasurers, and other barangay officials. Together with DILG Regional Director Araceli San Jose and Provincial Director Belina Herman, notable guests were Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III, Vice Governor Ma. Cristina Garcia, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members, former Congresswoman Geraldine Roman representing First District Representative Antonino Roman III, municipal mayors, and guests from Bataan Peninsula State University and the National Resilience Council.

 

Out of the 237 barangays in the province, 77 were conferred the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB) for 2024. Four barangays received the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Award (LTIA), nine were recognized for passing the Barangay Environmental Compliance Audit (BECA), and three were cited as Barangay Information Management System (BIMS) Achievers.

 

In his message, Governor Garcia commended the dedication of barangay officials and emphasized that the awards highlight each barangay’s performance across governance, peace and order, environment, and data management.

 

Launched in 2019, Husay Barangay recognizes barangays that set the standard for innovation, integrity, and excellence, fostering a culture of transparent, accountable, and citizen-centered governance.
