DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – Board Member Benjie Serrano said that members of Daan Bago Farmers Association underwent training on sustainable pig farming.
“Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Albert Venturina and I recently turned over the amount of P49,170.00 to Dinalupihan LGU received by Councilors Danny Dela Cruz and Amy Muli-Sandoval in front of local farmers, which came from the sale of 8 pigs raised in the duration of 6-month training”, said the board member who is the Sangguniang Panlalwigan Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture.
Venturina said the amount will be used by Dinalipihan LGU to procure pigs to be distributed to members of Daan Bago Farmers Association.
“Only organic were fed to the pigs in the training”, said the board member.
Serrano said he also took the opportunity to report to members of the association the provincial board’s approval of the establishment of a dairy goat center in Dinalupihan.
Venturina said the Provincial Government, Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Region 3, Provincial Veterinary Office, and Dinalupihan Municipal Agriculture Office jointly conducted the sustainable pig farming training.
He said the pigs used in the training were provided by ATI Region 3.
Serrano said members of the association expressed thanks to Gov. Abet Garcia for the conduct of the training for them.
“The Dinalupihan folks are truly very grateful to the training on sustainable pig farming, which happened through the leadership of Gov. Garcia”, the board member said.
Garcia fully backs the development of the agriculture sector that includes capacitating farmers.
