Councilor Amy Muli-Sandoval said that they at the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Dinalupihan have passed a resolution prohibiting the selling of ancestral domain land in the municipality.
“We should protect the rights of our indigenous peoples (IPs)”, she said.

“Sadly for just a small amount, our Aetas are losing their lands to unscrupulous individuals”, she lamented.
“Even IPs themselves, they must be reminded that they cannot sell their ancestral domain land”, she also said.
Muli-Sandoval said Dinalupihan IPs representative Councilor Joel Abraham authored the resolution.
“I gave my full support to immediately pass the resolution. I commend Councilor Abraham for the initiative”, she said.

“Mayor Gila Garcia fully backed the local legislative act to protect the rights of IPs in Dinalupihan”, she added.
She said the resolution is in line with the advisory from National Commission on Indigenous People urging to stop, prohibit, and report any transaction, dealing, negotiation of selling and transfer of lands within the ancestral domains.
