BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Some motorists failed to appreciate what good things the government is doing to improve our roads.
This is the sentiment bitingly expressed by Ulysses Llado, district engineer of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bataan Second Engineering District in a recent interview with local newsmen.
D.E. Llado appealed to motorists to understand the situation, adding that the government wants to speed up the road widening projects not only in Bataan but elsewhere in the country.
“The problem is some motorists do not appreciate our efforts to quickly fix the kinks along the way. Yung iba mura dito, mura doon pag pangit ang daan. Pero sanay na kami dun,” said Llado. (Some of them had been badmouthing us left and right, but we’ve been used to that.)
Llado admitted though that there are other concerns that need to be settled such as the right-of-way and shortage of cement that occurred in the last quarter of 2018. He said the DPWH is now addressing the problem promptly with proper consultation with Bataan Governor Abet Garcia.
