ORANI, Bataan – DSWD Central Luzon Regional Director Gemma Gabuya led the Emergency Shelter Assistance Launching/Kick-off ceremony at the covered court of Barangay Mulawin, Orani, Bataan last Wednesday.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provides Emergency Shelter Assistance (ESA) to families whose homes were partially and totally damaged by recent typhoons.
Orani Mayor Efren Pascual Jr., Vice Mayor Godofredo Jr. Galicia, SB Orani Members, Mulawin Punong Barangay Marvin S. Dela Cruz and Mulawin Barangay Council, and representatives from the private sector and other concerned agencies were also present at the event.
Regina Jose, Orani LGU’s project coordinator and MDRRMO operation-in-charge, said the LGU Orani funded the project (P900 thousand) on top of the assistance provided by the DSWD (almost P700 thousand) for 45 families from various villages of Orani.
For families with totally damaged houses, each of them received P33,000 from DSWD and P20,000 from LGU-Orani.
For partially damaged houses, each beneficiary received P11,500 plus another cash incentive from the LGU.
