Around 6,000 students in select public schools in Central Luzon, including Bataan, recently received school supplies from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

“The distribution is part of our Balik Eskwela project which intends to give back to our host communities or areas where we have transmission facilities,” NGCP Central Luzon Corporate Communication and Public Affairs Officer Ernest Lorenz Vidal said.

Students from the following schools in Bulacan, Bataan, and Zambales received school supplies: Kaypian Elementary School, Dulong Bayan Elementary School and Kaybanban Elementary School in San Jose del Monte City; Ipo Elementary School in Norzagaray; Bagong Bayan Elementary School in Pilar; Kinaragan Elementary School in Limay; Balsik Elementary School in Hermosa; Naugsol Elementary School in Subic; Pangolingan Elementary School and Luan Elementary School in Palauig; and Santiago Elementary School in Botolan, said Vidal.

NGCP is a privately owned corporation in charge of operating, maintaining and developing the country’s power grid.

It transmits high-voltage electricity through “power superhighways” that include the interconnected system of transmission lines, towers, substations and related assets.
