CAPITOL COMPOUND, Bataan – Republic Act 8980 ensures the provision of nutrition, early education and social services programs for the holistic development of all children six years old and below. At the forefront in the implementation of this law is the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) headed by Mrs. Marilyn Tigas, in partnership with numerous NGOs and other stakeholders.
To appropriately address the needs and concerns of children ages 3-4 in preparation to formal schooling, all our selfless, dedicated, day care service providers receive continuous technical assistance and trainings from the Provincial Government thru the PSWDO in collaboration with the Samahang Day Care Workers ng Bataan. Aside from the curriculum being employed in all day care centers in the province, other psychosocial interventions focusing on the survival, participation, protection and development rights are likewise provided, in partnership with the Bataan Child Empowerment Council.
Annually, our day care service providers take time out from their daily rigorous nurturing tasks not only to have fun and feel the spirit of the Holiday Season but more importantly to enhance their camaraderie with other day care service providers and stakeholders. The provincial government likewise takes this as the best opportunity to acknowledge the endeavors of the workers, recognize the contribution of government and nongovernment institutions and present the thrusts and directions of the federation for the coming year.
The accompanying photos show the multitalented, energetic, cheerful day care service providers with their ever supportive Municipal Social Welfare Development Officers during their general assembly held today at the Bulwagan ng Bayan 2. After the inspiring message of PSWDO Marilyn Tigas, well prepared dance performances followed. As customary in most assemblies, the raffle draws followed after the reports of the Federation President, Ms. Sharadel David and Treasurers Ma. Lourdes Silvano and Josephine Carig.
These selfless, dedicated, nurturing second parents to our 3-4 year old children all went home with a renewed commitment to their vocation.
