Leo Club hosts illegal drugs seminar for high school students

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Leo Club of Bataan, in cooperation with the Host Lions Club of Bataan hosted a one-day illegal drugs seminar for about 6,000 students of Bataan National High School (BNHS), the largest secondary school in the province.  

Undersecretary Rommel L. Garcia, Dangerous Drugs Board Vice Chairman and member of Rodriguez Montalban Lions Club discussed the ill effects of drug abuse and addiction.

Rodolfo Quizon Jr., more popularly known as Dolphy Jr. and son of the late Philippine Comedy King Dolphy, shared his nightmarish experience with illegal drugs. The substance abuse and subsequent criminal acts led to his incarceration. A renewed Christian, Dolphy Jr. travels in many parts of the world to share how God changed his life.

Bombeth Robles, past president of Host Lions Club of Bataan, said they have been advocating for a society free from illegal drugs. She described drug abuse as a social menace that must be eliminated.

The Leo Club of Bataan thanked the school officials of BNHS for  their full support to the activity.
