BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia projected the expansion and installation of communication facilities of the major road artery for efficient movement of goods and services and relocation of informal dwellers are included in his 3-year progressive social amelioration program which will intensify the marketing thrust of the historic peninsula as a productive investment site in the country.
While focusing on the inevitable economic upsurge with the emerging status of a premier industrial zone in Central Luzon, Garcia disclosed that a number of foreign and local entrepreneurs have opted to transfer their businesses to the province with its unique category of being the host of seven (7) economic and tourism zones and availability of sufficient power which is registered as the biggest operational expenses for the manufacturing firms.
He said the upgrading, improvement and rehabilitation of roads and bridges and installation of closed circuit television cameras, deployment of mobile and hospital units along the 100 kilometers stretch of Roman Highway would definitely hasten the vital infrastructure link toward the five (5) strategically located ecozones and Mount Samat Shrine Tourism Enterprise.
In the road widening scheme of Roman Highway to 30- meter width would further ensure the safety of the commuters and effective transport of raw materials to the ecozones and finished export products to the nearby seaports of Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and Manila Port Authority, Garcia said.
He enumerated the benefits in the coming of more investments to the province in terms of additional revenues for the expansion of health, education, roads and bridges and other equally important services for the residents.
With the on-going development, the Governor has consulted municipal officials and other national government agencies to formulate an effective land use plan and other measures which would focus on the resettlement of informal dwellers particularly those who constructed their residences in identified government industrial locations.
Local government authorities should undertake an applicable method to transfer informal dwellers occupying government industrial sites in Limay and Mariveles towns to more healthy, habitable and environmentally conducive community near the church, school and health center, Garcia added.
