FAB number of workers surges to 44,297

The onset of third quarter of 2019 posted a new record high in employment at the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) as the number of workers surged to a total of 44,297, report from the Authority of Freeport Area of Bataan’s corporate communication department said.

The report said the total number of workers represents an 8 percent increase from the second quarter of 2019 with 41,089 workers and a notable 18 percent growth compared to the total number from July 2018 with 37,413 workers.

AFAB Chairman/Administrator Emmanuel Pineda said this is a “clear evidence of AFAB’s fulfillment of primary mandate of inducing inclusive growth and poverty reduction through continuous job generation, the AFAB has been setting in new high in total employment yearly.”
“The FAB has fully grown exponentially since 2011 inheriting only 12,099 workers,” said Pineda.
In less than eight years, the AFAB has generated more than 32,198 new jobs. “Meaning 32,198 families have been feed and 32,198 lives have been uplifted,” he explained.
