BALANGA CITY, Bataan – With the fast industrialization of the province Gov. Abet S. Garcia wants that the conversion of Mt. Samat Shrine into a world class tourism center be fast tracked immediately.
During Monday’s meeting held here with representatives from Berkman, proponent of the project; Department of National Defense, Phil Veterans Administration Office, Tourism Infrastructure, Enterprise and Zone Authority (TIEZA), and other government agencies such as the Bataan Tourism Council, Gov. Garcia said that the province has already lined up several tourism programs with the expected arrivals of tourists-foreign and local, to Bataan.
To date, millions of pesos have been poured into the conversion for the analysis and feasibility studies, and the hardworking governor is expecting more tangible results by way of starting the project at the soonest time possible.
Projected to cost billions of pesos, said conversion will increase the number of tourists and bring more income for both the national and local governments. Included in the conversion project are installation of cable cars, construction of hotels, shops, large view deck, among others.
