Formulation of development approach to ecology urged

BALANGA CITY, Bataan- A Peninsula Electric Cooperative (PENELCO) supervisor is endorsing for the formulation of multi-faceted comprehensive development approach to ecosystem for the agro-forest tourism model to maximize the usage of the rich natural potentials of two Bataan coastal towns.

Renato V. Santos ,Balanga City PENELCO service center head and a native of Morong town, has proposed a long-range systematic environment program which would provide the town’s long shorelines and equally unique vast forest resources as premier promoting scenario for the expanding tourism market.

Santos has stressed that the adoption of multi-faceted strategic agro-forest tourism program is inclined to ensure the establishment of high-standard quality beach resort facilities and lodgings, hotels, retirement housing projects both for local and foreign residents and other services of improving the value of Morong and Bagac towns as forthcoming world-class tourism destinations.

Expressing his utmost optimism, Santos explained the great tourism potential of Morong as a former site of the United Nations Refugee Center and located at the backdoor of one of the most progressive economic zones in the country, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) while Bagac town has the advantage in tourism aspect with the presence of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, the country’s premier heritage resort .

With these advantages, the entry of several Manila-based real estate developers in the coastal villages of the two municipalities fronting the panoramic West Philippine Sea has reportedly encouraged small and medium entrepreneurs to put restaurants, souvenir and service shops and other profitable activities.
