MARIVELES, Bataan – Gov. Abet S. Garcia, yesterday, led the soft-opening and blessing of the Freeport Area of Bataan – Mall of Asia (FAB-MOA) Ferry Service and FAB Town Terminal

Said event which started in the passenger lounge ended with the ceremonial throwing of coins for good luck inside the ferry – MV XGC Cruiser which can accommodate 100 passengers. By land, the trip from Mariveles to Manila normally takes about 4 to 5 hours depending on the traffic situation, the FAB–MOA ferry route takes only 1½ hours, hence bringing Mariveles nearer to Manila by 3 hours. This will benefit not only the residents of Mariveles, the investors, and workers in the said locality but it will also bring in more tourists which will further boost development in this town and nearby LGUs.

Similar to the existing Orion-MOA ferry service, pre-booking online is P499 per way while walk-in rate is P849. First trip is at 11:30am from the FAB terminal to Esplanade Seaside Terminal (EST) at MOA; next trip is at 2:00 pm from MOA to FAB Terminal.

This momentous event was also graced by Vice-Gov. Ma. Cristina Garcia, Mariveles Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion, Camaya Coast President and CEO Mr. Manuel Carlos Ilagan, Jr., FAB Chairman Engr. Emmanuel Pineda, and other officials of the Provincial Government of Bataan such as Mrs. Azucena Sugatain (PCEDO) and former Board Member Gaudencio Ferrer.
