PALAYAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – Right after taking his oath as Chairman of the Sectoral Committee on Economic Development (SCED) before Chairman of the Board and Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, during the 5th Regional Development Council III Full Council Meeting held at the Nueva Ecija Convention Center this City yesterday, the hardworking Bataan Governor Albert S. Garcia immediately presented five resolutions to the Council which were all approved.
Said resolutions are the following: (1) Requesting the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) to Fast-Track the Implementation of Phase 1 of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR); (2) Requesting the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) to Reconsider Clark as the Location of New NAIA and to Provide National Government Subsidy for the Budget Terminal Expansion and Facility Modernization of Clark International Airport; (3) Encouraging the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) to Intensify Promotion and Marketing of Clark Development of Activities that would spur Utilization of CIA; (4) Endorsing SBMA’s request for Expression of support to the Port of Subic as an Extension of the Port of Manila and Encouraging Importers and Exporters of Region III to Utilize the Port of Subic; and (5) Endorsing the Appointment of Mr.Renato G. Romero, Private Sector Representative for the Trade and Industry, as the Co-Chairman of the Sectoral Committee on Economic Development (SCED) of the 14th RDC.
Being the host province, Governor Aurelio Umali of Nueva Ecija, mentioned in his welcome remarks that he is happy that Nueva Ecija will be part of the success of the provinces in Region III.
Before adjournment, Gov. Abet Garcia was given the opportunity to present the Bataan Provincial Development Council Resolution No. 01 Series of 2014 Approving the Establishment of a Provincial One-Stop-Shop and Mixed-Use Development of the Bataan Provincial Capitol and Enjoining All Provincial Based National Government Agencies, Government Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) or their Frontline Services to Locate therein. Said resolution was also approved.
