“Only Bataan has two Free ports- Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA)- which is 75% owned by Bataan,” pointed out the governor. He said that “Tourism enhances our hotels, job employment, income among others. Garcia cited the historic Mt. Samat, known for its rich history during World War II, saying once this is fully developed, this will further enrich the tourism program of Bataan. The governor also cited the FAB, which he said had posted the fastest in terms of economic growth among all other free ports in the country.

Led by its chairperson Mrs. Vicky Sandejas- Garcia, the Bataan Peninsula Tourism Foundation Council, Inc. (BPTFCI) has launched its search for Ms. Bataan in its bid to further promote the tourism program and business.

Mother of Governor Garcia and wife of 2nd district Congressman Tet Garcia,  Mrs. Vicky Garcia in her speech, said that the launching of the project is a special activity since it will signify the stronger bond among the municipalities, city and provincial tourism councils and the commitment to work together and create a unified thrust.

“Synergy is a big word. Yet, here in Bataan’s tourism strategy, we will make things real. Lalo po tayong magiging matibay at malakas kung tayong lahat ay makikiisa at makikisama habang itinutulak ang kapakanan ng mga bayan at lungsod. “I hope our municipal and city councils will coordinate with the department of tourism on various programs,” pointed out the BPTFCI Chairperson.
