Gov. Garcia explains goal of Meritocracy Bill

Gov. Joet Garcia took the opportunity during Monday’s flag-raising ceremony to explain the Meritocracy Bill authored by 2nd District Rep. Abet Garcia.

He said the bill aims to make every branch and agency of the government more productive and actively involved in national development. It proposes the creation of standards to measure good governance in local government units. He said those that meet these standards will be recognized and rewarded for their outstanding performance.
