BALANGA CITY, Bataan– A former regional director of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) in Central Luzon has expressed his admiration to Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia for his effective procedure of good governance and efficient formulation of methodical socio-economic policy leading the province to become a trade and industry investment hub.
Oscar Marcelo, now a respected freelance journalist based in Baguio City said that he was truly amazed by this favorable development during his two-day visit recently to the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) in Mariveles town and to the Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, a world–class heritage resort in the coastal town of Bagac.
He explained the exceptional growth of the historic Bataan peninsula was boosted by the creation of several economic and tourism zones which generate employment with the operations of industrial and manufacturing firms producing export–quality products and improvement of tourism sites and facilities.
Marcelo stressed the current business atmosphere in the province shows the local authorities headed by Governor Garcia giving preference of continuously pursuing excellent and workable economic development scheme and tapping local resources to share in creating opportunities for the opening of convenient network to encourage local and foreign investments.
The escalating real estate projects like housing subdivisions, fast food and convenience store outlets, shopping malls and other commercial business enterprises are now visible in the hilly sections and potential urban areas along the stretch of Bataan Expressway from Hermosa to Mariveles towns which are considered essential elements of a surging economy, Marcelo added.
He noted the existing progressive economic zones located in the provinces of Bataam- Zambales and Pampanga are emerging as premier industrial hubs in Central Luzon which greatly affected the Bataan peninsula economically.
