BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia vowed to continue supporting the socio-economic development agenda for the youth in the historic peninsula to prevent them from being hooked to illegal drugs.
In his short message during the visit of Director General Ronald dela Rosa, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), at Camp Tolentino, this City, on Friday , Garcia said he will pursue productive income generating projects for the benefit of the residents to achieve better quality of life.
“Our continuing manifestation of upgrading the engines of growth and positive partnership with investors and other stakeholders to put up labor-intensive manufacturing and commercial facilities have succeeded with the increasing numbers of registered industrial firms in the province’s seven (7) economic and tourism enterprise zones “Garcia explained.
Likewise, he appealed to former drug users and pushers who have undergone spiritual, psychological and free trainings from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for about three months at the Bahay Pagasa Reformation Center to utilize their newly-acquired expertise, religious and moral transformation to more worthy undertakings for the sake of their families and communities.
The Bataan Bahay Pag-asa Reformation Center, the first of its kind established in Central Luzon, is a joint project of Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia, Bataan Police Provincial Office and other non-government agencies to effectively provide alternative livelihood program for the prohibited drug volunteers and render guidance for them to become God-devoted members of the society.
Aside from the reformation scheme, the Balik-Loob program is designed to help former drug dependents regain the respect and to re-strengthen family ties and totally get away from the dangerous threat to health and ill effects of prohibited drugs.
