Health – the most important thing

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Members of the Provincial Leadership and Governance Program of the Province of Bataan with the Zuellig Family Foundation and the Department of Health held its 3^rd core group meeting last July 11 and 12, at Crown Royale Hotel, this City.

The first day, with the theme “Governors for Health and Development (G4HD) Core Group Workshop”, was participated by the Governor, members of the Zuellig Family Foundation, Department of Health Region III, Department of Health – Bataan, and G4HD Core Group.

This workshop is held so that the strategies that were crafted will contribute to a more concrete and focused efforts and interventions in improving the health status and quality of life of the people of Bataan.

“Ang gagawin po natin dito, I wouldn’t say na one of the most important things that we will do as public servants, but probably THE MOST important thing dahil ito po ay may kinalaman sa kalusugan ng ating mamamayan,” Gov. Abet Garcia said as he opened the second day.

It was themed “Engagement of Mayors” and participated by the Governor, Prof. Ernesto D. Garilao (President – ZFF), Mr. Walter Bacazera (Regional Vice President – PhilHealth), Hon. Ace Jello Concepcion (Mayor – Mariveles), Hon. Louise Gabriel Del Rosario (Mayor – Bagac), Hon. Antonio Raymundo Jr. (Mayor – Orion), Hon. Robert Roque (Vice Mayor – Limay), Hon. Alice Pizarro (Mayor – Pilar), Hon. Gene Dela Fuente (Mayor – Samal), Hon. Bondjong Pascual (Mayor – Orani), Hon. Liberato Santiago Jr. (Mayor – Abucay), Ms. Jocelyn Manalac (Municipal Nutrition Action Officer – Morong), Hon. Francis Garcia (Mayor – Balanga City), Hon. Jopet Inton (Mayor – Hermosa), members of DOH Region III, DOH Bataan, and G4HD Core Group.

The objective of the engagement is to have a shared vision of the health status of the Province and understand the roles and areas of collaboration in the Integrated Provincial Health System.
