“…I know how it is to be poor…”

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Pointing out he knows how it is to be poor to hundreds of college students from this city who attended the annual University Town Summit on Friday, Manila Vice Mayor and senatorial candidate Isko Moreno said he would push for education, health, and education.

“The poor need good government programs for education, health, and housing”, said the actor turned politician.


“I know what you are going through, the hardships in life, because I also experienced them”, he shared to college students. “I am in this position because I am pursigido (determined)”.


He also said he is no stranger to Bataan since he worked as a child in a farm in Brgy.  Nagwaling, Pilar where he has relatives.  He said his grandfather was buried in that town.


The senatorial candidate also took time to commend City Mayor Joet Garcia for his efforts to turn this city into a technology hub targeting to create plenty of jobs for local folks. “You are very lucky to have Mayor Garcia here in Balanga preparing your future”, he added.


Moreno is already 18 years in public service, first as councilor and later vice mayor of Manila. He belongs to the senatorial slate of presidential candidate Grace Poe.
