Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr., chief implementer of national inter-agency task force (IATF) for the management of emerging infectious diseases, lauded on Tuesday the brand of leadership of Bataan Gov. Albert Garcia in the nationwide move to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.

Galvez said during the meeting of Covid-19 Coordinated Operation to Defeat Epidemic(CODE) Team in a resort hotel in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB): “Ang nakita ko po leadership, napakababa ng active cases sa Bataan.”

Galvez particularly put emphasis on the local government’s putting up of isolation facilities and upgrading contact tracing activities which are already existing in Bataan.
He said, however, that the LGUs should find ways to open the economy. “Nakita namin ang potential ng Bataan. “We need to open up,” he said.
The former military officer explained that every lockdown it costs the government billions of pesos in terms of expected revenues. “We should concentrate on potentials and on protecting our economy,” Galvez explained.
