SEN. Imee Marcos wants to promote farm tourism and give farmers a shot in the arm amidst growing number of rice importers in the country.

Ms. Marcos made her remark during the 23rd celebration of Kababaihan ng Bataan tungo sa Kaunlaran (KABAKA) founded by former Bataan first district congresswoman Herminia Roman in Dinalupihan, Bataan last Sunday.

She said the national government should give farmers a sort of breathing space to live decently by giving them more incentives.
“Huwag naman sana tayong mag-import ng labis-labis na bigas dahil naapektuhan ang ating mga magsasaka,” Ms. Marcos said. (We should not import rice excessively to the point of marginalizing our poor farmers.)
