BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The incoming set of Mariveles officials headed by Mayor-elect Atty. AJ Concepcion and Vice Mayor-elect Lito Rubia vowed to work hand in hand with Gov. Albert Garcia for the progress of their industrial town.
“We visited Gov. Garcia and he asked us what we want to do in Mariveles and shared also to us his plans”, said reelected Councilor Tito Catipon. “Headed by our new mayor and vice mayor, we will be working hand in hand with the governor for the progress of our town”, he added.
Garcia, who received his second term mandate unopposed, has been envisioning the province to be an investment hub leading to the highest Human Development Index.
He authored the creation of the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) in Mariveles when he was congressman. AFAB has already attracted many locators and generated thousands of jobs.
The slate of Mayor-elect Concepcion ran under the political party National Unity Party (NUP), the party of the governor of which he is the national president.
Aside from Concepion, Rubia, and Catipon, also elected councilors in Mariveles under NUP are Harry Golocan, Angel Sunga, Turing Isip, Joey Carandang, Emson Reyes, and Susan Murillo.
The new Mariveles mayor is the son of outgoing Mayor Jesse Concepcion.
