Inter-bgy basketball tourney kicks off in Hermosa

MORE than a hundred youths from different villages in Hermosa town are joining the month-long basketball tournament which kicked off last Saturday at the covered court of Barangay Palihan.

The basketball tournament was organized by a local youth group and is aimed at diverting the attention of young men to a more productive endeavor.
Hermosa Vice Mayor Eigie Malana who supports the project said the sports activity will be held every Saturday and Sunday at the Palihan covered court.

A total of 28 teams have been formed through the town’s mobile league tournament.
“This will reinforce the strong camaraderie of the youths in the town’s 23 barangays and put their effort to a more worthy undertaking instead of being involved in illegal drugs,” said Malana.
Cash prizes worth thousand of pesos and trophies await the winning teams.
