The representative of Indigenous People (IP) in the Sangguniang Bayan of Hermosa wants more farm-to-market roads (FMR) in the tribal communities of Aeta to help local folks bring their farm products to nearby market place. Florentino D. Bonifacio, now a member of Sangguniang Bayan of Hermosa he being the IP representative of three populous Aeta communities namely, Parapal, Pastolan, and Bamban, said in an interview after the municipal council’s regular session last Monday that the residents badly need farm-to-market roads.
“Kasi para mapadali ang pagdala namin ng gulay at produkto sa bukid sa palengke. Kailangan naman mayroon maayos na daan,” said Bonifacio. (We need to have a good road to bring our farm products to the market.)
Bonifacio was a former chieftain of Pastolan. He proudly said: “Para naman makasabay kami sa kaunlaran.” (So much so that we can get along with progress.)
