Iskolar ng Bataan lives on!

MARIVELES, Bataan – Keeping true to his commitment of providing quality education to the young people of his province, Gov. Abet S. Garcia led the annual Orientation and Validation activity of the Iskolar ng Bataan last March 16 at the covered court of Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Bataan branch, in this town.

Started way back in the early 1990’s, during the late Congressman Tet Garcia’s first term as Representative of the second district of Bataan, to date, the program has about 1,700 beneficiaries, whose full tuition fees are refunded annually.

In his short message during the event, Governor Abet expressed his sincere desire to continue the program, despite the impending implementation of the law, making tertiary education in all state colleges and universities nationwide free. This was met with so much joy and enthusiasm by the audience.

Also in attendance were Ms. Cristina Garcia, Iskolar ng Bataan Program Coordinator; Ms. Leonila Generales, PUP Bataan School Director and the faculty and staff of said school.
