Vice Governor Cris Garcia, together with Iskolar ng Bataan Program Coordinator, Ramon Cañas distributed the cash refund for financial assistance among board and bar examinees at the DepEd Office, Capitol Compound, yesterday, August 6.

It will be remembered that the lady Vice Governor used to be the Iskolar ng Bataan Coordinator before becoming Vice Governor. In welcoming the first batch of 212 beneficiaries, she explained that the delay in the release of financial assistance was due to the election ban.
Under this program, a total of 5,000 pesos is awarded given to a former Iskolar ng Bataan beneficiary while 3,000 pesos for a non-Iskolar ng Bataan beneficiary.

Vice Governor Garcia appealed to the beneficiaries to help in stopping the spread of fake news that may adversely affect the program especially in the use of social media like Facebook.
Vice Gov. Cris gave an assurance that the Iskolar ng Bataan program will not be abolished without any strong and sound basis for its vision is to help students in Bataan to acquire higher education as a passport to a better quality of life, for as long as it can.
