Junior rescuers show skills at the 1st Provincial First Aid Olympics

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Junior rescuers from participating elementary schools, namely the Cabog – Cabog Elementary School in Balanga City, Tomas Pinpin Memorial Elementary School in Abucay, Diwa Elementary School in Pilar, and Orion Elementary School in Orion showcased their skills in first aid during the 1st Provincial First Aid Olympics organized by the Bataan Provincial Risk Reduction and Management Office (Bataan PDRRMO) in partnership with Philippine Red Cross – Bataan Chapter held at the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) Main Campus Sari – Gamit Covered Court on December 4, this city.
The program started with a doxology and singing of the Philippine National Anthem by the BPSU Choir. In her message, Ms. Josefina Timoteo – head of the Bataan PDRRMO greeted all the participants of the said event and thanked their partners for the untiring support for bringing up this 1st ever First Aid Olympics.
Here are the list of winners: Best in Bandaging Technique – Cabog – Cabog E/S, 2nd place – Diwa E/S; Best in Lifting and Moving – Cabog – Cabog E/S, 2nd place – Diwa E/S; Best in Situational Analysis – Cabog – Cabog E/S, 2nd place – Diwa E/S; Best in Quiz Bee – Cabog – Cabog E/S, 2nd place – Orion E/S; Major Awards – 3rd runner-up – Tomas Pinpin Memorial E/S, 2nd runner-up – Orion E/S, 1st runner-up – Diwa E/S, Champion – Cabog – Cabog E/S.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Charlie Ganbunton of PH Red Cross – Bataan chapter, thanked the participants of this year’s first aid Olympics. Lastly, he said that next year they will invite more schools from the different municipalities of Bataan to participate in the 2nd First Aid Olympics.
