KALIPI Bataan hones leadership skills

ABUCAY, Bataan – The Provincial Government of Bataan, thru the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) conducted an extensive training aimed at imparting knowledge on participatory leadership as a sustainable and empowering way to create successful organizational development and change, among members of the Bagong Sigla ng Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina ng Bataan, Inc (KALIPI Bataan Chapter), yesterday October 19 at Las Mariana Garden Restaurant, this town.

Dra. Corazon Aguilar-David, a local and international speaker about laws and human rights advocate from Pampanga, served as the guest speaker and facilitator of the said event.

 

During her talk, she capitalized the top qualities and traits of a leader such as being honest, forward-looking, competent, inspiring and intelligent which according to her, the KALIPI leaders and members must possess so that the group will have successful projects.

 

“Ang lider ay dapat may kaalaman kung paano magtatagumpay.” [The leader must possess knowledge on how to be successful.], Dra. David stressed while giving tips on what projects the KALIPI Bataan must undertake in their locality.

 

After the spirited discussion, she engaged the participants into lively physical games such as ‘hula hoop pass’, ‘pass the message’ and ‘longest line’ to name a few, which she later connected to the values of being united, having good communication within the core group and being resourceful in finding solutions to the problems of the group.

 

She also said that she will be no longer surprised when the time comes that the Bataan will be the crowning glory of the Region III because as what she have observed, the people of the province in general, are very cooperative and participative.

 

“Ang mga mamamayan ng Bataan, in general, itataya ang lahat pati ang kaluluwa’t reputasyon para sa kapakanan ng bayan.” [The citizens of Bataan, in general, will risk everything, even their souls and reputation for the sake of the province.], she reiterated.

 

To close the training, Mrs. Ester Hernandez, the Provincial President of KALIPI Bataan Chapter expressed her gratitude to all the participants and organizers of the event.
