CITY OF BALANGA, Bataan – The Bagong Sigla ng Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina ng Bataan Inc. (KALIPI) once again gathered for their General Assembly at the Bataan People’s Center last December 5, 2014.
An organized group of women from different municipalities and city of the province, KALIPI receives technical assistance from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) through provision of services and initiatives aimed at strengthening and institutionalization of national and local programs for women. Committed to respond to the needs of every woman for them to reach their full potentials and development, KALIPI is likewise committed to the promotion of women’s empowerment.
The General Assembly of KALIPI is celebrated yearly to strengthen the ties between and among members of the said sector. The program started with a prayer led by Ms. Elizabeth Paglinawan, Mariveles Chapter President, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by Ms. Rebecca Bao, Limay Chapter President. Ms. Ester Hernandez, the Provincial President warmly welcomed the attendees while Ms. Maria Concepcion Garcia, Provincial Focal Person, assured them of a fun-filled whole day affair.
True enough, colorful special numbers and amusing games were gamely joined by participants from different municipalities. To top it all, heavy built members of KALIPI showcased their dancing prowess. Representatives from each municipality grooved on their foot and showed their moves on their glamorous costumes but the Samal Chapter reigned supreme as they landed on the 1st place, followed by Pilar and Orion on 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.
As expected, the much awaited raffle draw lifted the participants’ anticipation to the highest level. In the end, every one headed home carrying a bag of treats, with matching smiles on their faces, a wish of happy holidays and most importantly, a renewed sense of self pride and confidence as a woman.
