LIMAY, Bataan—The Limay local government unit through the initiative of Mayor Ver Roque has built a new training center to train out-of-school youths (OSY) and interested adults to acquire the necessary skills to earn a living, said Lamao Barangay Captain Restituto “Bart” Reyes. A political ally of the Mayor,  Reyes said that the newly built training center is located along the Roman Highway.

Earlier, the two-term barangay captain lauded the Mayor for initiating massive infrastructure development in this town improving the delivery of services to the people. Further, he said that he will fully support the skills training program of Roque.

However, he pointed out, that he will also continue the regular skills trainings he is sponsoring in his village.  Reyes has been providing trainings on cosmetology, physical therapy, small engine mechanic, baking and other skills.

He earlier said that ever since he became village chief more than three years ago, he has prioritized the provision of opportunities for out-of-school youths in his village to get an education. He said that he wants Lamao folks to acquire skills that they can use to earn a living.

“In fact, a number of youths we have trained are already working abroad,” the barangay captain said.

Reyes is also the president of the Limay Association of Barangay Captains and as such sits as ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Bayan.
