In a significant move to safeguard motorists in Bataan, particularly on the Roman Superhighway, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) entered into a Memorandum of Agreement and a Data Sharing Agreement yesterday at The Bunker in Balanga City.

The agreements, signed by Governor Jose Enrique S. Garcia III and LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, aim to integrate Bataan’s traffic apprehension database with the LTO’s systems to enhance traffic law enforcement and administrative efficiency.

Governor Garcia emphasized that the signing is a first of its kind in the country, facilitating better implementation of traffic rules and regulations, including the Single Ticketing System. This system is expected to streamline traffic violation processing and enforcement. Atty. Mendoza explained that the integration would enable automated alarms for traffic violators, which could lead to the revocation of licenses under their demerit system. This initiative is designed to improve compliance with traffic laws and enhance road safety. Both officials assured that Bataeños can expect improved LTO services following the agreements, such as more accessible and efficient driver’s license application and vehicle registrations. Following the signing, driver’s license applicants who passed their free Theoretical Driving Courses were awarded their certificates. Governor Garcia announced that similar free services will be conducted in the near future, further demonstrating the commitment to enhancing road safety and driver education in the province.
