Engineer Wilfredo Mallari, a native of Balanga City, is now full-pledged Regional Director of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Region 4-B, also known as Mimaropa.

He took his oath last week before DPWH Secretary Mark Villar at the latter’s office.
I t would be remembered that he was appointed OIC Regional Director of DPWH Mimaropa early last year. He was also Assistant Regional Director of DWPH Mimaropa for a year before being promoted to OIC Regional Director.

Mallari has the distinction of being the first Bataeño to become regional director of DPWH.
He was district engineer in Bataan’s first district for 14 years and in Las Pinas- Muntinlupa, Metro Manila for three years.
He rose from the ranks starting as part-time civil engineering aide in 1975 while studying at the Adamson University in Manila.
He became a regular employee of DPWH, then the Ministry of Public Works and Highways in December 1977 after graduating and passing the Board of Civil Engineers in April of the same year.
