The local government units of Mariveles and Bagac, have finally agreed to settle their eight-decade long boundary dispute.
“We have already agreed to settle amicably our boundary dispute”, said Councilor Tito Catipon.
“We have been conducting series of meetings with our Bagac counterpart”, he also said.
“We at the Sangguniang Bayan Mariveles led by Vice Mayor Lito Rubia have been pushing for the settlement of the boundary dispute”, he added.
“We recently went to Bagac for the joint meeting for the finalization of the boundary dispute”, said Councilor Ronald Arcenal for his part. The two LGUs will equally divide the disputed area.
“The camp of Bagac agreed for Aglaloma beach to become part of Mariveles”, he said.
Catipon said the disputed area covers 349 hectares between Barangay Biaan, Mariveles and Brgy. Quinawan, Bagac.
