Mariveles holds free 15 hour driving course for aspiring drivers

Aspiring drivers in Mariveles can now begin their road journey legally and safely as the local government, in partnership with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region III, is set to offer a free 15-hour Theoretical Driving Course (TDC). The training will take place at Mariveles People’s Park on September 6–7, 2025, starting at 8:00 a.m.

Mayor Atty. Ace Jello C. Concepcion said the initiative aims to instill discipline, safety, and responsibility among new drivers while providing residents an accessible way to secure a student driver’s permit. The program is supported by Vice Mayor Jesse Concepcion and the members of the Sangguniang Bayan.

The free course is open to individuals aged 16 years old and above, including students, employees, and first-time drivers. Participants are advised to bring a PSA birth certificate or a valid ID, as well as a cellphone—either keypad or smartphone—for LTO’s Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) registration.

Interested residents may register online through the official Google form link or inquire via the designated contact numbers. Mayor Concepcion urged the public to seize the opportunity, reminding that “true drivers are disciplined drivers,” and that knowledge must always come before stepping on the gas.
