MBDA to install speed radar system along Bataan highways

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) led by its general manager, Charlie Pizarro Jr. this morning, April 18, joined personnel from various national and private agencies in the dry run for the speed radar system to be used in major highways of the province.

Dave Bautista of North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), personnel from Highway Patrol Group, Land Transportation Office and the provincial government briefed the MBDA personnel and the media on how the pro laser video camera is used in monitoring the speed of every vehicle plying Bataan’s highways.

“The system works with a team composed of profiler, gunner, radio man, and apprehending officer,” Bautista said.

The same system is also used in monitoring speed limits in NLEX, SLEX and SCTEX.

“Tatlong units ng device na ito ang gagamitin ng MBDA sa pagmonitor ng speed ng mga sasakyan sa mga major highways natin,” Pizarro told 1Bataan.com.

The project is in relation to the provincial ordinance being implemented starting this month on the speed limits of private and public utility vehicles to minimize the reported increasing the number of road accidents.

Pizarro added that the existing closed circuit television cameras (CCTVs) installed in strategic areas in Roman Highway, JJ Linao Avenue and Hermosa and Dinalupihan stretch of JASA Road, will also be activated and upgraded soon to have a speed radar monitoring system.

Under the said ordinance speed limits will be enforced in different types of vehicles plying Bataan highways with corresponding penalties for violators.

“The speed limit will be strictly enforced a week after this dry run,” Pizarro concluded.
