BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Mariveles Centennial Host Lions Club (MCHLC) with its unstoppable civic activities conducted a 3-day cataract operation to the residents of Mariveles, which started last November 19 up to November 21 at the Mariveles District Hospital.
Club President Lilia Tamayo with Dr. Hector Santos, Director of the Mariveles District Hospital and the surgical team headed by the couple, Dr. Tom and Cherry Meneses and Dr. Paulo Camacho attended to more than a hundred pre-
screened patients who underwent the sight restoring surgeries.
The patients according to Lions Club President Lilia Tamayo will have their post surgery check- up on the third day to see if the procedures were successfully done. They were also given intructions on how to take care of their eyes.
The Mariveles Centennial Lions Club, though a very young club has been actively doing civic services to the constituents of Mariveles in terms of school supplies distribution, helping the senior citizens, free eyeglasses, relief distribution during typhoons and now free cataract operation.
