Morong conducts 3rd art workshop

MORONG, Bataan In the observance of the National Arts Month this February, the municipality of Morong led by Mayor Jorge Estanislao on Monday conducted their 3rd Morong Art Workshop for the town’s young and budding artists.

Young visual artists or painters from different high schools joined the workshop facilitated by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts of the Philippines (NCCA).

The NCCA or Pambansang Komisyon para sa Kultura at mga Sining, is the official arts council for the Philippines. It is the overall policy making body, coordinating, and grants giving agency for the preservation, development and promotion of Philippine arts and culture.

It is an executing agency for the policies it formulates and tasked to administer the National Endowment Fund for Culture and the Arts (NEFCA) — fund exclusively for the implementation of culture and arts programs and projects.

“This is Morong’s contribution to the National Art Month of February and one of the activities for the town fiesta. It aims to promote art and culture among our kababayans. We are proud of our talented young artists here. I admire their creativity, imagination and talents by painting it on canvas,” Mayor Estanislao told

Visual artists Danny Pangan, Frank Cana Valencia, Danny Rodriguez, Joseph Otep Ablay, Nemi Macapugay served as mentors of the young artists.
