Last year, Nestlé Philippines embarked on an expansion program to double the size of its existing factory in Tanauan, Batangas, making it one of the largest production facilities of its parent firm, Nestlé SA, in the world.
The Swiss-based conglomerate said it would undertake the expansion because the Philippines now belongs to the top 10 markets of Nestlé’s world, becoming a “prime location” for direct investments.
Nestlé Philippines chair and chief executive John Martin Miller said, in a published media interview, that the Philippines is an “extremely important market” to them.
Nestlé today produces and markets products under some of the country’s well known brands such as Nescafe, Nido, Milo, Nestea, Maggi, Bear Brand, Nestle, and Purina, among others.
Their product range has expanded to include milk, coffee, non-dairy creamer, food and beverages, infant nutrition, ice cream and chilled dairy, breakfast cereals, confectionery, and pet-care.
