During her short speech at the Governor’s office, the beauty queen described her hometown as “di basta palulupig”, citing the municipality’s name “Dinalupihan”, which was believed to be derived from the term “di malupigan” (will not easily be conquered nor surrender) After delivering her short message, the beauty queen held a press conference where she emphasized her program on environment.
Monique, now 25 years old, won the Miss Bataan Tourism title in 2007.
After her visit at governor’s office, Ms Manuel proceeded to Dinalupihan town and was welcomed by Mayor Gila Garcia and thousands of her townmates. The welcoming ceremony was spearheaded by the provincial government of Bataan, the Provincial Tourism Office, and the municipal government of Dinalupihan.
