From the previous allocation of 15-80 cavans of rice per week for its accredited retail outlets inside and outside public markets, NFA increased their rice allocation to 20-120 bags of rice per week.

These strategies aim to flood the market with NFA rice to stabilize rice prices and to ensure that the public has easy access to good quality and affordable rice.

NFA also encourages everyone, especially consumers, to assist the agency in monitoring rice prices. The NFA sells regular-milled rice (RMR-25% brokens)) and well-milled rice (WMR-15% brokens) at Php27.00/kg and Php 32.00/kg respectively. The agency encourages all consumers to be vigilant in guarding and monitoring the price of the food staple and to immediately report any feedback regarding NFA rice movements, or any untoward behaviour or practices of NFA rice retailers and employees to NFA-Bataan’s Hotline, 0929-497-5865 for Smart and 0915-346-2060 for Globe subscribers.

NFA-Bataan Provincial Manager, Mrs. Adelaida C. Nuestro stresses that there is no price increase of NFA rice in the country and that citizens should immediately report anyone doing otherwise.

Additionally, tarpaulins bearing the names of NFA Accredited Retailers are displayed in front of public markets and municipal halls so that citizens are aware where they can avail of NFA rice.
