MARIVELES, Bataan- Bataenos will brace themselves with a series of power brownouts starting next week due to annual preventive maintenance, the National Grid Corp of the Philippines announced yesterday.

Ernest Lorenz B. Vidal, Central Luzon Corp Commenced & Public Affairs Officer of NGCP, said that the NGCP is now serving notices of the scheduled shutdown of some of its transmission facilities that will interrupt power supply in the towns of Limay, Pilar, Bagac and Morong from 7:15-8:15 in the morning and 5:00 to 5:30 in the afternoon come January 28.

Distributor of power supply here is Peninsula Electric Cooperative (PENELCO).

But the worst to be affected by the power interruption is Dinalupihan town particularly barangay Pinulot where a whole day black out from 8:00am to 5:00pm is scheduled, said the NGCP.

In Balanga and in Abucay, the NGCP said that power interruption is scheduled from 8:00am to 8:15am then 5:00 to 5:30pm.

In the towns of Hermosa,Orani and Samal, the power supply will be cut off from 8:00 am to 5:30pm.

Vidal said the power interruption was caused by Annual Preventive Maintenance of 100MVA Transformer and Power Equipment at Limay substation and simultaneous with PENELCO’s Corrective maintenance of Transmission Line along Hermosa-Dinalupihan 69Kv line.

He said Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion.

NGCP’s customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for this scheduled interruption, Vidal added.

*Specific cities and municipalities to be affected by the power interruption are determined by the above mentioned Distribution Utility (DU), unless the activity affects the entire franchise area. The DU allots the available power within its franchise area and implements the power interruption schedule among the end-users.
