Mayor Antonio L. Raymundo, Jr. of this town has revealed the National Housing Authority (NHA) is opting to finance the construction of P2.23 billion housing project in the coastal village of Daang Pare.
The proposed shelter scheme is patterned after the Disiplina housing community projects from Valanezuela City, Bulacan, built by the NHA and the Bataan Disiplina Village is considered as the biggest housing community of its kind in the province
The housing facilities would provide 2,880 families with adequate accommodations, including access to school, church, health center, water and power supply and other community vegetable farms for their consumption and additional income.
Mayor Raymundo the other day said President Rodrigo Duterte who deeply sympathizes with the plight of marginalized fisherfolk including the 800 homeless families who were victims of fire which hit Barangay Kapunitan last January this year had asked the officials of NHA to facilitate the preparation of the financial requirements of the housing project.
Informal settlers along the 11 coastal villages and other displaced fire victims are expected to be relocated in 13 hectares land at the cost of about P 18 million obtained by the municipal and provincial governments in Barangay Daang Pre.
The municipal government is rushing the preparation of necessary documents and other financing stipulation requisites like acquisition of fully-developed lots and financing the acquisition of completed housing units under NHA community-based initiative approach program.
