OFW invests P 4 million for a restaurant business

ORANI, Bataan – A former senior process engineer of two Singaporean firms has candidly decided to stay home for good with his growing children and personally manage the operations of a family owned–restaurant in a commercial district in Barangay Balut, in this town.

A mechanical engineer, Armando Cruz, Jr. who worked as senior process engineer of New Product Launch Advanced Technology Department of Seagate Technology International and HGST Singapore PTE LTD is extremely positive of the highly-favorable business-friendly atmosphere and the growing global cuisine demand of the local market in Northern Bataan.

Engineer Cruz established Backyard Café and Restaurant from his earnings as an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) with a capital outlay of P 4 million with his wife as master chef two years ago.

Cruz expressed his great confidence to the outstanding socio-economic development structures envisioned by local government authorities led by Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia, Rep. Geraldine Roman of the first Congressional District of Bataan, Orani Mayor Efren Pascual, Jr, and Provincial Board member Benjie Serrano.

According to Engineer Cruz, these officials have formulated an effective and efficient feasible economic program of motivating entrepreneurs to do business in the Bataan peninsula which is categorized as one of the top investment hubs in Central Luzon.

The favorable motivational approaches like enterprising incentive packages and relatively peaceful environment, high standard of infrastructure projects, stable power and water supply, presence of storage facilities, availability of professional and technical manpower have opened the avenues for local and foreign investors to the historic peninsula.

Engineer Cruz explained that the sustainable socio-economic programs of the province are wholly focused on uplifting the quality of life of the residents, reduction of poverty index, better health, education and social services in the rural communities.
