BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Good news for responsible gun owners in Bataan whose gun licenses have expired! Governor Abet S. Garcia requested Director General Alan Purisima of the Philippine National Police, to allow the holding of a one-stop-shop for the renewal of gun licenses in Bataan to enable the more than 7,000 licensed gun holders in the province to renew their expired licenses.
Aside from saving time and money, Gov. Garcia told Gen. Purisima that this will also encourage other gun owners to renew their expired licenses because under the “one-stop-shop” scheme, the gun holder can fulfill all the requirements such as gun safety seminar, neuro test, medical test, actual firing of gun, and others in one day.
A sharp shooter himself, Gov. Garcia offered to shoulder the other logistics needed for the said one stop shop to be held right here in Bataan. He instructed Pilar Ex-Mayor Charlie Pizarro, now General Manager of the Metro Bataan Development Authority, and Provincial Administrator Atty. Joey Angeles to take charge of the one-stop-shop project once General Purisima approves it.
