ORANI, Bataan – The state-of-the-art new and bigger reservoir of Orani Water District (OWD) will be inaugurated on April 9.
“A very special guest is scheduled to grace the inauguration of our new reservoir”, disclosed OWD General Manager Benni Andres. “The Local Water Utilities Administration will be bringing the guest”, he added.
April 9 is national holiday for the annual Araw ng Kagitingan commemoration in Mt. Samat, Pilar, Bataan.
Located in Brgy. Mulawin of this town, the new reservoir is glass fused to steel, which is the latest technology, and has a capacity of 1 million liters. The materials used in the construction of the reservoir were imported from United Kingdom.
“The construction of the reservoir alone cost P13 million, and we are constructing the front fence in time for the inauguration”, the OWD general manager said.
The OWD started last year 5 components upgrade of its facilities to better service their members. Other components include well drilling, civil works, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and leak detection and monitoring set.
The P101 million fund being used for the 5-component works, came from a loan at KFW Bank in Germany though the Local Water Utilities Administration.
