PGB to launch Healthy School Setting program

The Healthy School Setting program is set to be launched in four schools in Bataan on January 31.

In a recent Kapihan at the Bunker press briefing with Governor Joet Garcia, he said that these schools include Dr. Victoria Roman Memorial High School in Pilar, Mabatang Elementary School in Abucay, Tucop Integrated School in Dinalupihan, and Calungusan Elementary School in Orion.

Gov. Garcia also said that the Provincial Government has allocated six million pesos to provide free and healthy meals to students once a week in these pilot schools.

The fund also covers the hiring of individuals to manage the schools and capacity-building for students to participate in the program.

Partners are also being sought to implement this program in all public schools in the province.

Governor Garcia added that this program will help every family to save on food for their children despite the high prices of commodities.

Additionally, the program aims to promote prevention of vices, proper exercise, eating right, and mental health for the overall well-being of each student.
