In hopes of maintaining order and further reducing the number of vehicular accidents along the Bataan Highway, the Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) is installing additional standard directional signs along said highway following NLEX and SCTEX standards.

In a coordination meeting presided by Gov. Abet Garcia held recently at the 1Bataan Command Center in Orani, NLEX Vice President for Asset Management, Ms. Jennifer Jane Go provided valuable insights on standardization of all road signages based on NLEX and SCTEX standards.

During said meeting, Ms Go recommended among others the adding of acceleration lanes as well as merging lanes; ahead signs before every Y-junctions, tourism signs to indicate places of public, historic and cultural interests; pedestrian crossing ahead sign 20 meters before the pedestrian crossing; and intersection ahead signs 100 meters before the intersection.
Gov. Abet also recommended the construction of a 30-meter overhead pedestrian with roof and comfort rooms.

Go expressed the willingness of NLEX to support this joint project with PGB in the future.
Also present during the meeting were Pilar Mayor Carlos “Charlie” Pizzaro, Rex Jorge of LGU-Hermosa, and officials of Metro Bataan Development Authority.
