Pizarro updates catalogue of historical sites to enhance tourism industry

Former Pilar town mayor and newly-appointed Bataan Provincial Tourism Officer, Ms. Alice D. Pizarro, is carrying out a comprehensive inventory of tourism spots and historical landmarks for the purpose of creating a highly-competent system for Bataan, one of the country’s leading tourist destinations.

Ms. Pizarro cited the province’s ultimate goal of formulating a long-range tourism scheme that would provide strategic directions for the development of travel and tourism industry.
Bataan, as the last bastion of democracy, should establish heritage and memorial sites for tourists and the present generation to appreciate the heroic deeds of our forefathers and war veterans.
Ms. Pizarro added the eco-tourism development program would ensure further the inclusive growth of tourism in the periphery of Mount Samat Shrine which remains untapped as trekking and picnic grounds for adventurous tourists.

Another aspect is the preservation of Bataan mountain ranges by revitalizing the wholesome environment with marvelous landscape amidst the sparkling pristine waters of the West Philippine Sea and Manila Bay.
